Greetings First Ward family! Announcements for the Week of January 15, 2023
WEEKLY INSPIRATION: That man is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest.
Henry David Thoreau is best known for his book “Walden,” a reflection on the two years he spent living in a cottage near Walden Pond not far from Boston MA. In his journals, he records that leaving his humble life to travel would have numbed him to the unique pleasures of a quiet, simple existence. Thoreau valued nature and personal spirituality over materialism; It’s no surprise that he measured a person’s riches in terms of emotional satisfaction and not in luxury. He reminds us that we alone decide what fulfills us and brings us joy, and that far too often, those joys are much easier to reach than we think. Like Thoreau, Christ taught that Joy and Happiness are not found in the ways of the world, but through the simple and eternal principles found in his Gospel.

It’s best to make an appointment to reserve your spot, so go to temples.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. Please contact Bishop’s Executive Sec. (Brother Crane) or a member of the Bishopric for an appointment. Brother Walton is also available to accommodate you on Sunday after church, or Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:00 at the church. Regardless of the day or time, the Bishopric is eager to assist you.
Ministering Visits: Please check-in with the members of our ward family you are assigned to minister to.
